Tracking for BCaBA

Anna M.

Hello all,
I am currently accruing my supervision for my BCaBA. Ripley seemed like a great place to start and I have seen a few people use it to track for their BCaBA. I am aware that it is mainly used to track hours for BCBA. Does anyone else use Ripley to track for their BCaBA? Also, does anyone know how it looks when transitioning from tracking for BCaBA to BCBA hours on here? I am planning on continuing on after I get my BCaBA. I just thought id reach out and see if anyone had any advice for me or could let me know if the transition between the two certifications make it hard to track on here.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Anna, I have the exact same question & am so glad I’m not the only one! I’m gonna ask my supervisor when we meet next week

Hi Anna, you can definitely use Ripley to log your BCaBA hours. Just keep in mind that for BCaBA, the requirement is at least 40% unrestricted hours (rather than 60% for BCBA).

A more important point for your planning: BCBA fieldwork hours cannot begin until you officially start your master’s-level ABA coursework. This means any hours you accrue now for BCaBA before your first graduate class begins will not count toward BCBA fieldwork later.

You can find this guidance outlined in both the BCaBA and BCBA Handbooks, so it’s a good idea to review those as you plan your next steps.

      Hello Lorinda,

Im not sure if this is something that you would know but if I go back to school right after I graduate with my BCaBA to get my masters, do my hours count towards my masters or would I have to re accumulate all the hours?
